HOW TO MAKE YOUR GUEST BOOK UNIQUE

If you google "unique wedding guest book", you'll likely find hundreds of different companies that sell guest books....but they still all look the same. The standard tends to be a blank book, about 5" x 7" in size, and my come with a goofy pen with a feather attached. I've been to plenty of weddings where this book is set on the gift table and not surprisingly, these books tend to just be a roll call of who was at your wedding. This is an all to often missed opportunity to really get guests involved. I am a victim of this blank guest book as well. I can honestly say I've never looked at my guest book since my wedding day. I don't even know where it is in my house!
By creating a custom wedding guest book that includes pictures of the couple, the book not only is more interesting to your guests, but more interesting for you in the future.
Photobooks are a new trend that are quickly replacing the traditional photo album where you slip in the prints you've ordered. It is a sleek, clean, and more permanent way to archive your photos. Custom guest books by Story for 2 are already designed so you can not only include your favorite photos, but also have lines for your guests to write their well wishes for you.
Check out some of the examples shown here. There are guest books for any couple, whether they are modern or traditional.

WELCOME BAGS WITH MEANING

A trend that started some years ago, the welcome bag, has really evolved. It's a nice little surprise when you check into your hotel for a wedding. I've come across a wide range of welcome bags and I've realized that there are great ways to customize them for you and your weekend events.
Yes, you could fill them with the standard bottles of water, chips, gum, etc. But go that extra step. Try incorporating a little something that is special to the wedding itself or the location.
If you have your wedding in Chicago, then add some Frango mints that are famously from Marshall Fields (now Macy's sadly). Or if the wedding is in Colorado, add in a couple of bottles of beer from the local brewery. I once received a CD that I could play in the room while I was getting ready. It was full of songs that you could tell really meant something to the couple, and it got me excited to see them say "I do!"
Not only will guests enjoy the treats, but they'll see how you put a little extra thought into it for them.

A CONSISTENT LOOK FROM START TO FINISH

I recently completed a bride's wedding details. I started off by designing her invitations. She chose a pocket style that neatly packs all of the details such as directions and the rsvp into a side pocket. Her wedding colors are brown and sage so I made sure these two colors would pop on her invitation.
The bride really wanted to have a design detail that would pop off the invite. We worked with a few different styles and settled on a traditional yet bold detail that really grounded the invitation.
Once the invitations were designed, I moved on to the other essential elements of the day; the ceremony program, the escort cards, the table numbers, and the menu. To keep a consistent look throughout all of her elements, the bold detailing, the greens and the browns have all seamlessly made their way onto these pieces. It's the small details that really make a wedding look sharp and pulled together.
